My story
In the past I used to own the lingerie online shop. From this experience I have learned that many of the products are made in China and many of them are colored in chemical process that might contain dangerous substances. I started my research and I also learned that conventional cotton pollutes the water resources and many chemicals are used during the gorwth, I learned about GMO seeds and small farmers producing organic cotton... And that's where my idea started to form. I have decided to create my own underwear made from organic cotton, because that's definitely something I would love to wear. I also realized that there is almost no selection on the market in colors. Most of organic underwear comes in natural colors and since I love the colors and patterns I decided to make organic underwear in colors!
I made the research and learned about GOTS certification entity. Then I searched for the fabrics certified by GOTS in nice colors that would stretch, so that I can make the underwear that fits nicely. This was quite difficult, but I have found a great fabric supplier that met all my criteria.
Then I made the prototype panties and designed my first collection. When I had the fabrics I loved and the panties prototype, I started to search for a small local tailor who would sew more of my panties in desired designs. I found the independent tailor, who makes everything by hand, so all of my products are produced ethically without exploitation of workers in large factories.
This is basically how we work together. I design the panties, search for fabrics, make the prototype and my tailor then makes more of each color/print.
